Does the DICOM viewer replace our PACS system?

The oeHealth DICOM viewer provides professional-grade viewing with Cornerstone.js — including window/level presets, multi-viewport layouts, measurements, and cine playback. For many facilities, it replaces the need for a separate PACS viewer entirely. It supports DICOM, PNG, JPEG, TIFF, and BMP files, and handles multi-frame DICOM sequences for cardiac and dynamic imaging.

What imaging modalities are supported?

oeHealth supports all major imaging modalities: X-Ray, CT Scan, MRI, Ultrasound, PET Scan, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, and Fluoroscopy. Each modality has dedicated protocols, reporting templates, and window/level presets optimized for that type of imaging.

Can radiologists take measurements on images?

Yes. The DICOM viewer includes four measurement tools: length (line distance), angle (three-point angle calculation), area (rectangular measurement), and ROI (circular region of interest). All measurements display on the image in real time, can be undone individually or cleared in bulk, and are included when exporting images as JPEG or generating PDF reports.

How does the image quality analysis work?

The image processor analyzes sharpness, noise, contrast, and brightness distribution to generate an overall quality score. Images are rated as excellent, good, acceptable, or poor, with automated recommendations for improvement. Enhancement tools including CLAHE, contrast boost, noise reduction, and sharpness enhancement can be applied individually or in bulk.

Can we use standardized imaging protocols?

Yes. oeHealth includes a full protocol management system with pre-built protocols for common studies. Each protocol defines patient preparation, positioning, acquisition parameters, contrast management, and post-processing instructions. Protocols support physician approval workflows, usage tracking, and parent-child relationships for protocol families.
